Abitano a Savignano sul Rubicone (FC) la loro terra è la loro anima, talmente radicata da sempre che la nonna non può fare a meno di fare la raccolta del cavolo cappuccio rosso con loro: lei sta bene nei campi.

They live in Savignano sul Rubicone, in the Forlì Cesena province; their land is their soul, so deeply rooted by decades that the grandmother cannot help but collect the red cabbage with them: she is well only in the fields.

Sanzio Gobbi (a sinistra nella foto) e il figlio Denis mi accompagnano in giro per i loro campi coltivati raccontandomi come ormai da decenni abbiano trasformato la loro agricoltura da convenzionale a biologica. Ultimamente stanno cercando di evolvere verso le tecniche biodinamiche adottando il cornoletame con molto successo.

Sanzio Gobbi (left in the photo) accompanies me around their cultivated fields explaining me how they have transformed their agriculture from conventional to organic a lot of years ago. Lately they are trying to evolve towards biodynamic with great success, thanks to a techniques by adopting a biodinamic technique so-called the "cornoletame" (manure horn).

Denis mi spiega che lui rappresenta la terza generazione nella loro attività e che, come per la raccolta del cavolo cappuccio rosso, la nonna ancora oggi li aiuta a raccogliere verdura e frutta a testimonianza di quanto questa famiglia sia da sempre contadina.

Denis explains to me that he represents the third generation in their rural business and the grandmother still helps them to collect vegetables and fruit as a testimony to how peasant this family has always been.

Denis mi spiega che il cavolo cappuccio rosso è un alimento molto ricco di proprietà e di benefici naturali; vitamine, sali minerali, fibre e il fatto che sia biologico esalta maggiormente queste sue proprietà ma l'importante è cuocerlo poco perchè potrebbe perdere fino al 70 per cento delle sue proprietà durante la bollitura.

Denis explained to me that the red cabbage, which they are collecting today, is a food very rich in properties and natural benefits; vitamins, minerals, fiber the fact that it is organic enhances its properties more but the important thing is to cook it for a short time because it could lose up to 70 percent of its properties during boiling of water.

Questa famiglia è un esempio tangibile di come il terreno sano se trattato con rispetto ci regali non solo degli alimenti autentici ma un vero e proprio modello di vita come dimostrano loro stessi che riescono, anche se con lavoro e fatica, a portare avanti questo progetto di terra e cibo pulito: penso di avere compreso quanto abbia fatto e faccia bene soprattutto a loro stessi. Bravi, il cibo è famiglia questa è la loro storia, memoria e forza.

This family is a tangible example of how healthy soil if treated with respect not only deliver in our hands us authentic food but a way of life as this family demonstrate that they are able, even if with lots of work and some difficulties, to carry out their project and now I realize that what they have done it's been a good target especially for them. Well done, food means family too, this is their story, memory and strength.
